Quality Assurance


a. A planned and systematic pattern of all actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that the item or product conforms to established operational, functional, and technical requirements.

b. A set of activities designed to evaluate the process by which products are developed or manufactured.

All those actions performed by the DOE prime contractor during the project that provide confidence that quality is achieved. It is executed through a formalized Quality Assurance Program.

All those actions that provide confidence that quality is achieved. 

All those planned and systematic actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that a system or component will perform satisfactorily in service. Quality assurance includes quality control, which comprises those quality assurance actions related to control of the physical characteristics and quality of the material or component to predetermined requirements. Quality assurance requirements apply to design, fabrication, testing, modification, and use of a packaging.

All those planned and systematic actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that a facility, structure, system, or component will perform satisfactorily in service.
