Quality Control


a. The process by which product correctness is determined and action is initiated when nonconformance is detected.

b. A line function; the work done within a process to ensure that the work product conforms to standards/requirements.

Those actions related to the physical characteristics of a material, structure, component, or system which provide a means to control the quality of the material, structure, component, or system to predetermined requirements.

The organization or group typically responsible for quality verification, inspection, documentation, and surveillance of hardware, including SSCs and services.

All those actions necessary to control and verify the features and characteristics of a material, process, product, or service to specified requirements. Quality control is the process through which actual quality performance is measured and compared with standards.
