Initiation Phase

At this initial phase, the approved (high-level) business case becomes an input and is utilized to develop the Project Charter and identify initial scope. Internal and external Stakeholders (who interact and influence the overall outcome of the project) are identified and documented in the Stakeholder Register. Project Charter approval is obtained and both the project and PM are officially authorized. Initial financial resources are committed.
