Informal Deciding Official
The person at the lowest management level, including the employee’s immediate supervisor, who can remedy the employee’s specific concern or dissatisfaction. The informal deciding official is usually the employee’s first level manager/supervisor. He/she may be directly involved in the matter being grieved, and is the official to whom the informal grievance is presented.
