Dual-Agency/Joint Responsibilities

As required by the 1983 DOE/DoD Memorandum of Understanding, sharing with DoD the responsibility for identifying and resolving health and safety problems connected with nuclear weapons; continuing responsibility to participate with the DoD in consideration of health and safety problems for nuclear weapons in DoD custody; and working with DoD to ensure that nuclear weapon and delivery systems can be operated in a safe and secure manner.
