The physical, technical, and administrative controls and risk management processes for providing the required and appropriate level of confidentiality, integrity, availability and accountability for DOE/NNSA information stored, processed, or transmitted on electronic systems (and networks).

The protection of information systems against unauthorized access to or modification of information (whether in storage, processing, or transit), loss of accountability for information and user actions, and the denial of service to authorized users, including those measures necessary to protect against, detect, and counter such threats.
