Critical Decision (CD)

A formal determination made by the CE or PME at a specific point during the project that allows the project to proceed to the next phase or CD.

Critical Decisions (CDs) are formal stage gates or transition points during a project’s lifecycle where a set of required deliverables are evaluated by “CD approvers” to ensure they were properly completed and accepted.
