Condition Based Maintenance (CBM)

An equipment maintenance strategy based on measuring the condition of equipment to assess how and when it may fail, and then taking appropriate action to avoid that failure. Equipment may be monitored using Condition Monitoring, Statistical Process Control techniques, by monitoring equipment performance (System Engineer), or through the use of the human senses.
